Why I have Never Cold called or Door knocked As a Realtor


 First of all it's ok if you do cold call or door knock, I just choose not to do it for my career. The reason is I just hated it and to me it was something that I would not look forward to. So I started my journey on how to market and get a steady business instead of that.

Marketing is a bad word to some real estate agents and they want someone else to do it for them. The issue with that is most agents do not have the budgets to market effectively. I did not either when I started as a Real Estate Agent. 

I hired a few people who said that they could solve all my marketing issues, I quickly found out after I gave them my money that was not the case. The problem is they did not really take the time to focus on my unique real estate agent services. 

So I decided to read a lot of books on it and give it a try myself. This blog was the first thing that I did as a real estate agent for marketing on the internet.  Fast forward today since 2009 and I have 3.5 million views on this blog and it has gotten me a lot of new clients. Clients that need my services that I describe in each blog post I add. 

 Over the next 11 years I added a lot of new marketing venues to my real estate business. Fast forward to today I do 100+ transactions a year for the last 3 years. I have also been an EXP Realty ICON Agent in 2018-19-20 (only 23 agents out of 500 in Ohio got this award). My real estate business grows every year and I always I have commissions coming in from my marketing efforts.

Realtors need to have a marketing company built into their business to create one. Door Knocking and cold calling creates burnout and that makes for a shorter real estate career.
